Two children discover an enchanting nativity tableau at the grandparents house whilst helping with the Christmas decorations. After everyone has gone to bed, the children creep down to take a peep and find it lit by the brilliant light of a star. The characters in the tableau are brought to life and involve the children in the events of that wonderful night.
