Babes in the Wood is a fun filled pantomime originally written for a rural primary school. Consequently it has a range of roles for children of all abilities. Written in verse, with memorable songs, even the longer parts are accessible and easy to deliver. As usual with Nick Cornalls shows, there are twists and turns which bring a fresh dimension to this much loved pantomime tale. The evil Sheriff of Nottingham has to cope with his useless assistants, Sergeant Chalk and Private Cheese, Robin Hood is a bit of a wimp with a reluctant band of Merry Men, but the feisty Maid Marian is on hand to save the day. Throw in a wolf, great tunes, lots of jokes and pantomime business and you have an unforgettable evening of music and drama.
Nick Cornall
Nick is mainly a writer of music, although he does perform too. He has played with or supported the likes of Billie Jo Spears, The New Amen Corner, The Big Town Playboys, Sherman Robertson and the Walter Trout Band, to mention a but a few.
A very successful writer of children's and theatre music, writing musicals for large leisure companies, such as Pontins UK, Nick has also written for albums, particularly in the country sphere.
Nick is at present Head Teacher of a Junior School in the North of England. A perfect job for him to test run his delightful musicals.
