They meet the sly old fox and a very arrogant goat and there is even a mouse that's best friends with a lion. They do battle with the Sun and Wind, watch a tortoise race a hare and meet a wise old owl who just can't stop giving good advice.
Join them on their incredible journey as they are shrunk to the size of a grasshopper. See the world through the eyes, ears and thoughts of the animals.
Through a collection of catchy songs and wonderful characters, the children learn that in spite of all their differences, there is a spirit of love and caring that makes us all the same.
Stories as old as time and as wise as ever, brought together in a magical musical production that is guaranteed to enchant, educate and entertain.
The music covers many styles including Rap, Swing, Ballad, Military, Latin American and good old Rock 'n' Roll.
Suitable for either Junior or lower Secondary, the script is versatile enough for small scale or whole school productions with thirty main characters and any number of additional groups of ants, doves, bees and other critters.
Bruce Sharp
Bruce Sharp has a B.A. (Hons) Degree in Drama and Theatre and a B.Ed. (Hons) in education. He has worked in both amateur and professional theatre specialising in sound and music for performance and gained practical experience as musical director of a Theatre In Education Company. His many years as a full time Primary School Teacher have given him a clear insight into what fires children's imaginations as well as a good understanding of the huge benefits of creative learning. He also understands the demands of working on the teaching side of a production. Working with a large group of children is a bit like juggling. Now imagine the balls are slippery and have teeth and you're getting close. Now imagine the sense of achievement and self-belief the children get from this amazing process. Working with children on a production is always a magical experience. I'm not saying it isn't hard work, I'm just saying it's always worth it.Bruce has written and produced many wonderful children's shows. His bright colourful characters, witty fast-paced scripts and humorous catchy songs have proved hugely successful with both the children and the parents.
"The problem isn't with his productions, it's the songs you're still singing two months later when you're trying to conduct a serious staff meeting." - Tony Mallett (Class Teacher- Shadwell Primary School)
Bruce currently lives in Harrogate along with a large black Labrador, a cat called Mouse and a firm belief that you can never have enough chocolate cake. He says his secret to successful writing for children is that he's never lost the desire to play like a child. Perhaps that is why the children who perform them love his plays.

Perfect musical
This was the perfect musical for a large Year 6 production! With the different fables there was plenty of scope for writing in a large number of parts - 68 of our children all said something!! The songs were really fun to learn with great humour!
