Star Rating I think that "The Pinafore Pirates" is an entertaining and funny production and we are doing it in school for our year 5 and 6 show in 2 weeks. The songs are great and very catchy. I think this is an amazing show and you should definitely consider performing it as it is entertaining for both adults and children alike! (Posted on 26/06/2009)

Star Rating We have just performed this to hoards of adoring fans. I chose this as I have done lots of amateur G and S myself. The piece is witty with lots of jokes which work on several levels. We showed the children some DVD footage of G and S productions to give them an idea of what we were doing a pastiche of. (Great for us as we have hundreds who want to be in the play and some could just be a fairy, some an islander and some policemen... (who got the most laughs with their amazing moustaches....) Choreography was easyish (most of the songs needed at least some movement, and we modelled a lot of ours on original G and S style. You would need a good MD as there is some quite challenging solo singing (Daisy and Christopher particularly) and part singing. Everyone has pronounced it the best show we have ever done! Star Rating Our "look" was the French Revolution complete with a "Marie-Antoinette" Iolanthe. The boys loved the whole idea of pirates - even if they were girls! When the fairy grove scene opened, the whole audience let out a huge "ohh!" Excellent all girl show. (Posted on 10/04/2008)
