'Once Upon A Time' opens the show and Granddad offers a brief introduction to the characters; Marney, Bookworm, Vicky, Liz-Bet and their pet seagull. Unfortunately, after discovering that the seagull has disappeared from the loft, the children come across seven sided dice which they roll, and become transported to Game Land;
'Fortunes March' follows.
The children bump into Lady Fortune and her ‘trusted’ friend III Luck who waste no time in launching into a game of snakes and ladders. However, the children don’t realise that this is not just a friendly match and after singing
'Seven Sided Dice' Lady Fortune exits laughing and Ill Luck explains how they must play for their freedom. Unfortunately the children lose their first game of
'Snakes and Ladders' and the snakes take Liz-Bet away. Unluckily for the children, the only way they are going to have their sister return is by winning another game. Confident with his expertise in Space Invaders, the scene changes to show stars and planets and
'All Is Lost' commences as the invaders explain their problems to Marney. As Marney agrees to help them, he follows them to help destroy the computer to win the battle but unfortunately, the boy is carried off by aliens.
The next game that the two remaining children play in a bid to win back their siblings is monopoly. Bookworm surprises everyone by his sales techniques but even this doesn’t secure him a win during
'Monopoly.' After getting wind of the children’s arrival, during the
'Reporters Song' Bookworm and Vicky are pestered for their story. After
'Lavender' Bookworm and Vicky continue making their way round the board as they come across Kings Cross Station and the frantic people attempting to hop on board. During the
'Stationmasters’ Song' the Stationmasters sing proudly of being British. Unfortunately, their journey on the monopoly board comes to an end when neither child has any money to buy or sell. Without collecting £200, the two children
'Go To Jail.'
As Act II begins, the children are reunited in jail and find themselves in the company of an old man who offers wise words during
'One Time.' The children follow the old man’s advice and they place the number sevens together to release Lady Fortune’s hold in order to play to the end of the game.
'A Dying Trade' follows during which undertakers carry in a coffin before a game of Cluedo commences. As all the characters offer their side of the story, Bookworm listens closely before finally putting his finger on the truth during
'Who Done It?' After realising that Mr Body killed himself, the children earn their freedom from jail
In a conversation with III Luck, Vicky realises that the Old Man who offered them invaluable advice was in fact her granddad. After singing
'Who Can He Be?' the Old Man and his granddaughter are reunited before the final game of chess commences. The Black and the White Castle exchange a few words before the game, thinking they know what the outcome will be; the Queen or ‘Lady Fortune’ always wins. ‘Here Comes the Queen’ follows and with her new found confidence Vicky challenges the Queen along with her new friend III Luck. ‘Song of the Kings and Queens’ is sung whilst the players prepare themselves for battle. After the battle, Vicky lies in grief over III Luck’s body and during
'Seagull' Vicky looks to the sky as she watches her seagull fly away to freedom having successfully won the game.
